Mega ST 2  and hard drives

I have a mega 2 st and two hard drives. Now the computer doesn't seem to recognize that the hard drives are hooked up. It worked at first then it just cut out on me. I already checked the cabling so I know that's not the issue so I have come to the end of my rope anyone have any ideas?
