I believe that you are correct that one of the I.C.'s are bad. I had a problem that was just like it. I contacted Best Electronics and described the problem to them and they told me which part of the 2600 needed to be replaced. Their website is www.best-electronics-ca.com you sould be able to find their email on there. I believe that all of their products are brand new, so you don't have to worry about getting some used replacement part. Hope that this helps!
