Try hooking up your cable t.v. through your atari switchbox. Heres what you do. get an adaptor that changes it from the old style hook ups to the new style. (it looks like this 0[][][]=) this switches it from the old stlye hook-up-two-wires-with-screws to your normal type connections. Now, put the two wire part onto the only place that will actually take them. (This should be the part that says "antenna") Then, plug your atari into the box and connect the box to the t.v. If this fails, then check and see if this is an automatic switch box. If you actually have to go back behind your t.v. to switch it from cable to game, then it is a manual switch box. If there is no switch, then it is an automatic. If it is an automatic switchbox, then you have just found the problem. The problem is that the old videogames such as the 2600 dont have the power to flip the internal switch. If you have an automatic switchbox, bring it back to radio shack, and ask them for a box with a switch on it. If they have none, go to Circut City, where they have them. If neither of these things work, then It must be a problem Physically with the switchbox,or the t.v.
